Frank, I agree completely. If a homeowner needs to act sooner rather than later, there is always the option of finding a company to buy your home for cash. Sometimes taking that kind of a loss is a better option than the drawn out process of a foreclosure or short sale. If you really need to sell a house, then find a company like Express Homebuyers in the DC metro region.

That's an excellent point and one the media does not pick up on. Unless there is a push to extend this tax credit, double whammy rules will be in effect. If homeowners are underwater, the time to act is now.

I think the banks are trying to save money for themselves in the end. A homeowner who allows a foreclosure, instead of a short sale, will typically cost the lender $50,000. I have paid a contractor tens of thousands of dollars to fix a $100,000 home just to make it marketable.

This is a noble thing you are doing. There are less scholarships nowadays and you are actually giving a valuable scholarship for students who have merit. That is good news.

You would think that someone you have made more than $100 million dollars in the past few years could somehow avoid doing a short sale. Either it is poor financial management or he is just "working" the system. My guess he is working the system.

That was good news they were not arrested but the elderly couple still in a bad situation. And maybe the children should have stepped in and stop them from sending the letter. Who knows ? I still think there should be a better way for all!!

Very very resourceful and helpful newsletter this month! I am a first time "stumbler" onto your blog and I must say, I am very happy with the "content" and overall "material" and I will definitely be referring some of my clients and potential clients over here to "brush up" on their overall knowledge of short-sales, foreclosure purchase, rent to own (RTO), and many of the other topics that you very thoroughly covered in this months newsletter. Very nicely done again.

If anyone has a nearly flawless way of obtaining ownership legally like this I am very interested. I'm not interested in becoming a slum lord. But owning a home like this to just to make an example of how decayed the system really is due to the curruption of the banking institutions would be well worth it even for 6 months to a year.
