‘Octomom’ Nadya Suleman Foreclosure Sale Delayed (Again)

The most bizarre foreclosure case in recent memory must belong to Nadya Suleman, who is also known as “Octomom” for delivering eight children at once (via in vitro fertilization) while on government-sponsored welfare to help support her other six children back in 2009.

Her unique story captured major headlines throughout the United States at the time, sparking debate about whether or not a cash-strapped, public-assisted single mother of six should be allowed to pursue excessive fertility treatments and have taxpayers pick up her tab. More than three years later, Suleman still knows how stir controversy, as well as avoid foreclosure.

According to The Orange County Register, the four-bedroom, three-bathroom home in southern California the Suleman “purchased” right around the same time as the birth of her octuplets, will remain her’s for at least another two weeks. Suleman stopped making the $3,000 monthly payments way back in 2010 on her “wrap-around mortgage,” which essentially means she holds the deed and makes payments to the original property owner, Amer Haddadin, who in turn pays the bank.

This is the second time the foreclosure sale has been postponed. She (and Haddadin) owe approximately $477,288 on the La Habra, Calif., home.

Suleman has recently filed for bankruptcy, claiming her debt-to-asset ratio is in the neighborhood of $1 million to $50,000. It’s possible that the bankruptcy claim could have delayed the latest foreclosure sale.

Meanwhile, to make ends meet, Suleman has reportedly embarked on an adult film career. We told you this was bizarre.

Game Show Host Bob Eubanks House In Westlake Village Sells In Short Sale

Whoopee!

Legendary radio personality and television game show host, Bob Eubanks, recently unloaded his Westlake Village house in Thousand Oaks, Calif., for $1.982 million in what the Los Angeles Times describes as a short sale transaction. The five-time Emmy Award winner, which includes a lifetime achievement award, purchased the 4,972 sq. ft. four-bedroom, 4.5 bathroom “Normandy-style home” for $2.66 million in 2006.

A widow in 2001, Eubanks shared the home, which he attempted unsuccessfully to sell two years ago with a sticker price $2.595 million, with his second wife and their young son.

Other luxurious amenities include wood and stone floors, custom built-in cabinetry, French doors and an office, among others. The 3.5-acre grounds feature a swimming pool with spa, a two-story play fort, an outdoor covered loggia, stone walkways and fountains.

Eubanks, 77, was the host of the super popular “The Newlywed Game,” which aired on-and-off with him as the Master of Ceremonies for a record-setting six consecutive decades. He’s apparently a card-carrying member of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys association, suggesting that perhaps he’ll mosey along to a new ranch to ride out his well-deserved retirement.

Jets Antonio Cromartie Hit With Florida Foreclosure In Tallahassee

Former Florida State University (FSU) shutdown cornerback, Antonio Cromartie, is the latest high-profile sports celebrity to fall into foreclosure. Cromartie, who was drafted in the first round of the National Football League (NFL) draft back in 2006, owes $105,381 on an 864 sq. ft. home in Tallahassee, Fla., that he purchased shortly after turning professional.

TMZ.com reports that Cromartie stopped making payments in 2010 and that Bank of NY, which issued the mortgage loan, wants the recent Pro Bowl selection to either make good on his payments or “hand over the keys to the property AND make good on his mortgage payments … plus interest.”

Cromartie recently signed a huge four-year, $32 million contract extension with the New York Jets. He’s an integral part of the team’s defensive backfield, which features perhaps the best cover corner in the league, Darrelle Revis.

So a $100,000 bill sounds like a drop in the bucket, right? Not really.

Cromartie has the dubious distinction of fathering 10 children with eight different women. Nine of his brood are under the age of four years old and he actually has two more on the way with his current wife.

According to a recent Yahoo!Sports article, Cromartie pays “more than $3,500 per month to all but two of his children’s mothers.” And his child-related expenses are the primary reason he requested a $500,000 advance from the Jets in 2010 to get current on outstanding child support payments.

Terrell Owens broke: Misses child support payments, facing foreclosure on two Dallas condos

The financial problems for former National Football League (NFL) receiver Terrell Owens have reached fourth and long status.

Owens made headlines over the weekend for failing to pay the mother of one of his four children child support. The six-time Pro Bowl selection — who is apparently on the hook for nearly $45,000/mo. in total child support to three different women — is reportedly $20,000 behind in monthly payments, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “T.O.” could face jail time and additional fines if he can’t get current on the outstanding balance.

However, his money woes extend much deeper.

The Dallas Morning News reported last week that Owens is facing foreclosure on two separate homes that are located in Dallas, Texas, which is where he spent three years of his nearly 15-year professional career as a member of the Cowboys. He owes about $700,000 combined on the two condominiums; however, both are apparently up for sale, meaning that he can possibly avoid foreclosure altogether if he can find buyers before they hit the auction block.

Owens, who holds, shares and/or is near the very top of the all-time NFL record books for just about all the important receiving categories, has made untold millions throughout his decorated career from salaries, sponsorship deals and other revenue streams. Unfortunately, he doesn’t have much to show for it currently, trying to make ends meet as a co-owner and wideout for the Allen Wranglers of the Indoor Football League (IFL), earning a “six-figure” contract in Allen, Texas.

O.J. Simpson faces foreclosure on Miami house

Even though he retired from the National Football League (NFL) in 1979, Hall of Fame inductee O.J. Simpson can’t seem to avoid the hits, which have come fast and furious since the 1994 murder of his estranged wife, Nicole Brown.

Simpson — who was charged with her murder, but ultimately was found innocent after the “Trial of the Century” concluded — is facing foreclosure on the five-bedroom Miami, Fla., home that he purchased back in 2000 for $575,000.

In an odd twist, the lender apparently attempted to serve Simpson “on a daily basis” with foreclosure papers; however, “Juice” is currently locked up behind bars in a Nevada prison, “serving a nine-to-33-year prison sentence in a 2007 armed confrontation with sports memorabilia dealers in a Las Vegas casino hotel room.”

According to the report from FOXSports.com, the attorneys for the former Buffalo Bills running back are attempting to have the foreclosure case dismissed. It’s unclear who is living in the house while Simpson rides out his jail term and/or what he intends to do with the property if he can rescue it from repossession.

Stay tuned.
