Braxton, who is perhaps most well known for her smash hit “Un-Break My Heart” in the mid 1990s, reportedly defaulted on a Bank of America mortgage loan on the property, which is located at 10120 Empyrean Way. She must pay $12,503.20 or risk losing it to the bank.

This is not the first time that the 40-something diva has run into financial problems.

She filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy protection in 1998 because of a reported $3.9 million debt. In addition, City National Bank (CNB) recently leveled a $900,000 lawsuit against Braxton, citing “breach of contract.” Lloyds of London, too, has countersued the chart topper in response to a cancellation of a string of shows.

Braxton has publicly battled pericarditis, a serious heart condition, for several years. She currently resides in a five-bedroom house in the Seven Hills area of Henderson, Nevada, as well as owns another 3,376-square-foot home in Alpharetta, Ga., according to Big Time Listings.

Going once, going twice, SOLD! back to Chippewa Valley Bank of Wisconsin for $2.6 million.

That’s basically how the foreclosure auction went last week for Al Capone’s alleged 407-acre 1920s-era “hideout” in Couderay, Wisc., which was on the block after its previous owners defaulted on the mortgage.

Despite a Chicago-area advertising campaign (where Capone rose to fame and fortune more than 60 years ago as America’s most notorious gangster ever) to market the two-story stone lodge, it appears that no buyers were interested in plunking down bids.

Indeed, the bank that issued the $4.25 million mortgage back in 1959 officially repossessed and took ownership of the historic slice of backwoods real estate. There is currently no indication as to what will now happen to the property, according to a recent CNN.com report.

However, Leslie Strapon, assistant executive director of the Hayward Chamber of Commerce, holds out hope that it will remain a tourist destination.

Here’s a snip:

“Everyone is patiently waiting to see what’s going to happen with the place,” she said. “It would be nice if it fell into the hands of someone who was wiling to reopen and carry on the tradition [of hideout tours].”

We’ll keep you posted as soon as new details emerge regarding this unique listing on Foreclosure.com (click the link for pic and description).

In addition to being an “A-list” actor, Cage is a prolific real estate collector. He owns multiple properties in Los Angeles, Calif., and Las Vegas, Nevada, as well as others in major cities such as New York, New Orleans, San Francisco and elsewhere.

However, he now has two outstanding tax liens attached to the portfolio — one that dates back to 2007 and another from 2002.

Cage actually sold a 28-room castle, Schloss Neidstein, which sits on 395 acres of forest in the Oberpfalz region of Bavaria, Germany, earlier this year because of what he described as a “difficult economic situation.” He is also reportedly shopping a $7 million island in the Bahamas.

La Toya Jackson — an older sister of the recently deceased “King of Pop,” Michael Jackson — is facing foreclosure on a 1,856-square foot condominium unit located on the 27th floor at Regency Towers inside Las Vegas Country Club in Nevada.

ReviewJournal.com reports that the singer/songwriter, who is perhaps more recognized for her famous family and two spreads in Playboy in the early 1990s, is in default with an unpaid balance of $750,000. She purchased the home for about $260,000 in 1996.

It’s possible that Jackson has no intentions of rescuing the condo from the auction block — she reportedly moved all of her belongings out of the residence back in August. Other reports indicate that Sept. 30 is the possible date for a future foreclosure sale.

La Toya, 53, is not the first or only Jackson to miss mortgage payments.

Michael was at the center of perhaps the most famous celebrity foreclosure story ever when his sprawling Neverland Ranch in Los Olivos, Calif., was teetering on the edge of repossession. He avoided foreclosure in the eleventh hour by selling a major interest in Neverland to a real estate investment company, Colony Capital, which entered into a joint venture with Jackson to renovate and re-sell it.

For what it’s worth, Dr. Conrad Murray — the man at the center of the investigation into Michael Jackson’s death — is also in danger of losing his 5,268-square-foot home in the exclusive Red Rock Country Club in Las Vegas to foreclosure.

Elsie Poncher is evicting her husband from his final resting place above Marilyn Monroe at Pierce Brothers Westwood Village Memorial Park cemetery in Los Angelis, Calif., and relocating him over one spot.

It’s a move that is going to payoff off her $1.6 million mortgage and leave the home “free and clear” for her kids.

And then some.

She recently put the plot up for auction on eBay with a starting bid of $500,000. It’s already received 34 bids, generating more than $4.5 million with one week still to go before the online auction expires.

Here’s Poncher’s pitch:

“Here is a once in a lifetime and into eternity opportunity to spend your eternal days directly above Marilyn Monroe. This crypt in the famous Westwood Cemetary in West Los Angeles currently occupied above Marilyn Monroe is being vacated so as to make room for a new resident. “Spending Eternity next to Marilyn Monroe is too sweet to pass up”, recently quoted by Hugh Heffner, who has reserved his place in eternity next to her. The lucky bidder will be deeded a piece of real estate that he or she will make their last address. And below you will be Marilyn Monroe. In fact the person occupying the address right now is looking face down on her.”

Her late husband, Richard, purchased two crypt’s from Monroe’s ex-husband, Joe DiMaggio, back in 1954. He likely had no idea at the time that he had made the investment of a lifetime — Monroe didn’t commit suicide until six years later in 1962.

Poncher intends to sell the one crypt to the highest bidder, relocate her husband to the other tomb and the have herself cremated when the time comes.

In addition to Monroe — likely the most popular and famous celebrity of the 1950s era — stars such as Natalie Wood, Dean Martin, Rodney Dangerfield, Merv Griffin, Mel Torme, Truman Capote and Farrah Fawcett, are buried at Pierce Brothers Westwood Village Memorial Park, according to the Los Angeles Times.

It’s prime real estate, which the report indicates is, “on a per-square-foot basis — one of the most expensive pieces of real estate on the market.”

Lisa Wu Hartwell, who is featured on Bravo’s “The Real House Wives of Atlanta” reality television program, is denying a report from TMZ.com that she and her family were “booted from their multimillion dollar Georgia mansion” for defaulting on their home loan.

In fact, Hartwell — who is married to National Football League (NFL) free agent linebacker Edgerton Hartwell — claims in an interview today with People.com that the couple attempted to restructure the $2.9 million loan, but it did not work out.

It eventually resulted in a short sale ($1.9 million) to a new buyer … not a foreclosure.

Here are her thoughts on the situation:

“We chose to move, we were not evicted…. It was decision that we made and not one that was made for us. But we were not put out.”

The Hartwell’s apparently “downsized” to a nearby home that sits on 10 acres.

If you’re curious or interested to see how it all went down be sure to tune in to the current season of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.” It airs every Thursday at 10 p.m. ET on Bravo.

Dr. Conrad Murray — the man at the center of the investigation into Michael Jackson’s death — could lose his Las Vegas, Nevada, 5,268-square-foot home in the exclusive Red Rock Country Club home to foreclosure, according to the Associated Press.

The report indicates that Murray “racked up a debt of more than $100,000 plus penalties since his last $15,000 payment in January” and could forfeit the two-story residence to the lender as soon as Nov. 2009.

Foreclosure, however, may be the least of his concerns at this time.

Murray was with Jackson at his home when he suddenly died last month at the age of 50 as a result of cardiac arrest. Speculation has run rampant that Murray, Jackson’s personal physician, may have possibly contributed to his death with a lethal dose of anesthetic Propofol.

It’s important to note that the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office has yet to release its official autopsy findings into the cause of Jackson’s death. Furthermore, even though his home and office have been searched by law enforcement officials, Murray has not yet been publicly named as a suspect in the ongoing investigation.

More on Murray’s foreclosure situation at 2426 Grassy Spring Place as it develops … stay tuned.

With just one day to spare, the 54,000-square-foot mansion of former four-time heavyweight professional boxing champion, Evander Holyfield, in Atlanta, Ga., has been rescued from a public foreclosure auction that was scheduled for tomorrow (July 7, 2009).

Holyfield has been fighting to keep the 109-room home, which includes 17 bathrooms, three kitchens and a bowling alley, among other luxurious amenities, for almost a full year.

It now appears that he has struck a deal with mortgage holder JP Morgan Chase & Company to stay put; however, he must pay back the entire $10 million loan on the 104-acre estate no later than Aug. 4, 2009.

Holyfield has made millions throughout his career as a prize fighter.

In fact, he pocketed a cool $34 million just to go toe-to-toe with Mike Tyson back in 1997 in what is now referred to as “The Bite Fight.” All told it is estimated that Holyfield earned an estimated $250 million in the ring throughout his career, which excludes endorsements, sponsorships, appearance fees, etc.

His agent, Jerry Schaffer, recently informed 11Alive.com that his client “is working on several projects right now, including a comeback fight,” details of which should be announced in the next 60 days.

The 46-year-old slugger — who has also faced a public battle over late child support payments in the past (he has 11 offspring) — doesn’t appear to have that much time … especially if he doesn’t have $10 million at his fingertips.
