I don't think the problem is so much the housing crisis as it is the ill-advised half-million dollar loan taken against the property. It's a terrible shame. All these homes were built so extravagently, that just paying the upkeep, insurance and property taxes may have been too much for many folks. This is just another casualty of the housing crisis.
